Body Growth Hormone for Children May Increase Stroke Risk

According to a new study, childhood treatment with human growth hormone is strongly associated with an increased risk for stroke in early adulthood. Researchers treated 6,874 children with growth hormone, and followed them to an average age of 28. There were 11 strokes in the group. Analysis found that this was more than twice as many strokes as would be expected in a population this size. Via New York Times. Posted August 25, 2014.
