I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) in 2015, and I know what it’s like to experience negative side effects from medication — it’s scary, confusing, and sometimes feels hopeless. I did everything I was supposed to; I took my medicine as indicated and went in for my monthly blood work to check my liver functions, but I was not getting better. I was getting worse. So, I began to do more research online about RA and discovered that it might be possible to control the disease with lifestyle changes. Unfortunately, I was not given this information during my doctor visits. But fortunately, there was MedShadow! When I learned about MedShadow, I knew that I had to be part of the team to help others avoid what I experienced from medication side effects.
As a member of the MedShadow team, I use my experience in accounting and nonprofit organization operations as the Administration Manager. I oversee all administrative functions, financial matters, and Human Resources. I received my B.S. in Finance from Old Dominion University and have a Masters in Media and Communications. My previous work experience includes a role as a Cash Management Staff Accountant, where I analyzed and monitored cash accounts, including the Federal Reserve and Federal Funds. I also worked for a nonprofit educational organization as a professional speaker. I love how all of my experience comes together to support MedShadow in our mission to help people avoid medication-induced side effects and take control of their health.
