Before joining MedShadow, Ruby Anderson was an editor at Healthline and Everyday Health, and a staff writer at Thrillist.

Anderson began her editorial career in Western New York (WNY), developing outreach strategies for behavioral health organizations and creating educational materials for the University at Buffalo communication team. Her experience at WNY continues to influence her understanding of healthcare access in the U.S., as well as the power of clear and unbiased language to increase this access and empower people.

At MedShadow, Anderson is excited to work with the team to elevate important stories, provide clarity, and honor complexity in ways that help readers make informed choices.

Originally from Westchester, NY, Anderson has a double major in English and Psychology from the University at Buffalo. She now lives in Crown Heights and spends much of her time mulling things over on the benches of Prospect Park.
