Your son is so lucky to have you. I completely understand your frustration, as I am going through my own taper after being on Klonopin 20+yrs. It’s extremely difficult. You’re correct. ALL Doctors should be armed with benefits and risks…and also know how to help their patients going through hell when they are experiencing withdrawal and/or tapering off. It’s a disgrace in the field of Medicine and Doctors . I truly wish you and your son the best. I’m sorry you both are going through this♥️

I am 78, soon I hope to taper my son 52 off of Valiums, which were over prescribed and for long-term (4.5 yrs) Opioid users were able to sue, howeverBenzo users aren’t, I wonder why. I have never taped, however I did try twice by reducing 20mg Valiums by 10% but his Anxiety became severe in 10 minutes and I had to give 10% plus 10mg Valium and wait 35 minutes before his Anxiety dropped. Several days later the same thing occurred, I guess I will try 5% reduction. Any suggestions of what I can use to help his Anxiety? I am using L-Theannine 400mg and Mulungu 500mg 2X daily. I want to sue the Dr for addicting him and not telling us about how dangerous withdrawals are and long term use. Thank you, Joseph, California

Thanks for this article. I have been on Klonopin since 2011, I was severely poisoned by Levaquin in 2017 and this ruined many sytems in my body, esoecially soft tissue and gut, however, I decided to detox off of the pain meds Ihad been on for 15 years and I had a VERY VERY badexperience, I was guided by a doctor who. is the head of detox at CedarSinai, and he said he never saw anything like this. Among all of the above, I sweat through 5 shirts every night for 8 weeks…he couldn’t figure it…it took me a very long time to feel better and I still have some swerious pain issues and had to go back on a reduced amount. Now I am wondering if the fluoroquinolones, and me being on benzos had something to do with such an intense detox. I cannot handle another thing and my doctor wants me to wean of the 1mg of Klonopin now. I suffer extreme chronic pain. And feel I would. be injuring myself further. I lost 20 lbs and cannot put it back on, 14 months later. Are there situations in which you do not recommend weaning (It was originally perscribed to me for sleeping adfter a tendon rupture surgery on my ankle(yes from Cipro). So I have many different tioxicities and am not feeling well enough to go through another detox. Or perhaps it isn’t even working at this point? And I have also heard that not everyone has bad withdrawals. So i am in a tough spot and wondered if you have anythoughts about this. Thanks.
