I used to slather Oxy 10 (was there Oxy 5, Oxy 12 too?? in a small white bottle) on my face almost every night in high school in the late 1980s, early 1990s, and my dad would tell me I was damaging my skin. I did it anyway because I was afraid of pimples (now called zits). It was a mistake. That OTC zit cream should’ve been used sparingly. I see this product is no longer on the market– can’t ascertain exactly why. Then in my 30s and now into my 50s, I developed these smallish bumps of different sizes all over my face–A dermatologist said it was sebaceous hyperplasia. No one in my large family–on either side– has this skin condition, and it makes me think that whatever was in Oxy 10– messed up my normal teen oil production somehow, and I couldn’t see the results for decades. Have any long-term studies been done?
