Suzanne B. Robotti Suzanne B. Robotti

Suzanne B. Robotti Founder and President

Suzanne Robotti launched MedShadow Foundation in 2013 with the goal of helping people understand the risks and benefits of medicines. The mission has expanded to embrace integrative medicine as an important part of healthcare.  She was motivated to found MedShadow because she had been harmed by an adverse event caused by the drug diethylstilbestrol (DES). MedShadow.org is active on most social media platforms and YouTube, and in 2025 we launched our first webinar series.

In December 2014, DES Action USA moved under the MedShadow Foundation umbrella after DES Action asked Suzanne, herself a DES Daughter, to take over the management of what was then a member organization. Robotti eagerly accepted as the two organizations share a common mission – to educate the public about medication side effects. DES Action was founded in 1978 and throughout its history has educated, advocated and informed the DES community. Today the DES Action website continues to house the most complete and up-to-date information on DES in the US. DES Action no longer requires membership and the organization is open to all.

MedShadow Foundation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit. Both MedShadow.org and DES Action do not accept funding or support from pharmaceutical companies.

Suzanne writes and speaks extensively on known and lesser known side effects, interactions, and supply chain issues related to OTC and prescription drugs. As a patient safety advocate, Robotti served on the FDA Advisory Committee on Drug Safety and Risk Management as the only consumer representative alongside doctors and pharmacists from 2017-2024. She is also a member of the Pace University Advisory Board for the College of Health Sciences.
