Jessica DiGiacinto Head of Content

For more than 12 years, Jessica DiGiacinto has been dedicated to creating science-based content that gets beyond scary headlines to uncover important truths, while acknowledging that wellness is not a one-size-fits-all proposition. Her written and multimedia content covers topics such as new medications, nutrition and supplements, healthcare policy, and the role of food as medicine..

DiGiacinto’s previous roles include Senior Editor at Forbes Health, Healthline, and the Carnegie Corporation, which established her dedication to understanding the intricacies of new scholarly studies and a curiosity about the inner workings of the pharmaceutical industry and government regulatory agencies such as the FDA and CDC.

At MedShadow, DiGiacinto and her team work to deliver rigorous, unbiased, and independent journalism that people can use to make the choices that are right for them.

She received her MFA from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, and outside of health journalism, is a screenwriter with two optioned screenplays. She has lived in New Hampshire, Maine, Los Angeles, Boulder, Colorado and NYC, and enjoys spending time in nature, at the gym, listening to science podcasts, and experimenting with plant-based recipes, with varied success.

As a nonprofit, we don’t take a dime from pharmaceutical or supplement companies. That means we can report on the benefits, risks, and alternatives to prescription and over-the-counter drugs free from corporate pressure or influence.
