I’ve been experiencing negative side effects of generic Adderall capsule for a year now. I always have to check with different pharmacies to find out what manufacturer they have in stock. Waste their time and mine. Mallinckrodt is the worst! Camber, I feel nothing, Granules, bad side effects, Lanette not effective at all, Amneal, is not effective, Ani is not effective. The only one that feels like real Adderall is actavius Elizabeth. That’s again on back order and I won’t see that in the pharmacy for months. And I’m not sure if that’s the same as Teva pharmaceutical some pharmacies don’t even hand out a description along with the meds. How can they get away with this! It makes me wander”what am I really digesting when I know it’s not real Adderall.

I was on Sandoz, now because of a nation wide shortage, I was given SpecGX. It is unbelievably different. I feel the unpleasant side effects, but none of the benefits. TspecGX is giving me blurred vision, I feel “loopy” and my BP is higher, with palps. It has only been less than a week on the replacement, but something this drastically different is unacceptable.

Hi Roddie, I’m so sorry to hear about your experience here. While MedShadow is continuing to report on this issue, we can’t directly help you with this. We recommend reaching out to your prescriber and/or pharmacist about trying different manufacturers or trying to get the brand name covered (this has helped some people with varying levels of success). We do have some tips for having that conversation at the end of the article. If they aren’t amenable to the conversation, it’s time to consider new providers. Again, so sorry you’re going through this. – Emma

This article seems to validate what I’ve been experiencing, with clinical studies to back it up. I doubted myself but after reading this article I see that this is a phenomenon experienced by many patients with ADHD. I too have noticed the pills dispensed changing in both appearance and efficacy and have had drastically differing physiological responses to them. And I realized that just as the article mentioned, when supplies became short in 2022 is when the inconsistencies began.
