In response to demand, MedShadow has improved design, speed, and content organization for users
New York, NY – March 30, 2025 – MedShadow Foundation has been shortlisted for the 18th Annual Shorty Awards for Investigating Generics in the Strategy and Engagement: On a Shoestring category, showcasing the creativity and effectiveness of its work in digital media.
“Investigating Generics serves an urgent need in providing critical information to the public about the life-threatening quality breakdowns in the generic drugs supply chain,” said Diane Salvatore, Executive Director of MedShadow. “Our mission is to shed light on the risks and benefits of all medication, and through our incisive investigative journalism, insightful expert commentary in webinars, and newsworthy nationwide survey, we were able to bring these issues to the public to advocate for both problem-solving discussion and, we hope, marketplace change.”
“In 2024, as the lone Consumer Representative of the FDA Drug Safety and Risk Management Advisory Committee, I was alarmed by reports of substandard medicines reaching America. In looking deeper, I realized the limitations of the FDA and the risks for all who use generic drugs,” said Suzanne Robotti, Founder and President of MedShadow. “Our team at MedShadow dove into this topic and together we developed both a groundbreaking webinar series with all-star panelists, supported by a deeply researched article series. This is the only program designed for the public. We found that the greater community of experts and leaders in the medical field became engaged in our webinars and articles also. I’m incredibly proud of the work our team has accomplished and am pleased to see this work recognized as a finalist by the Shorty Awards.”
“In our 18th year, ‘Claim Your Era’ is more than a theme, it’s a declaration of adulthood, a reflective question and a call to action to digital storytellers,” says Junmian Sun, Managing Director of Shorty Awards. “This season’s finalists moved past the ‘rented attention’ and algorithmic chasing. They claimed the era of creativity with gravity, by building community, investing in their craft, and entering conversations that people actively choose to return to rather than scrolling by.”
Shorty Award winners are selected by the Real Time Academy, including industry leaders from notable brands and organizations like Walt Disney Company, Digitas, Meta, Google, Apple, and more. Winners will be celebrated at the Shorty Awards ceremony on May 19 in NYC.
